The Girlfriend Experience

Here's a movie I saw recently called "The Girlfriend Experience" starring Sasha Grey.  That itself caught my attention because, well, she is a porn star.  I got curious about the whole movie but didn't ever bother to rent it until my friend arrived at my place saying he recently bought it.

The movie talks about a Manhattan call girl offering the girlfriend experience, which is basically an extension of her services (instead of a single night, she stays by your side for a week or so).  Throughout the movie, you see the parallel between her career and her boyfriends' who is a private trainer at a local gym.  The way it's presented is awesome as you get to compare the similarities between 2 worlds that are supposed to be completely different.

The movie isn't hard, it nearly feels like a documentary.  There's no heart rending scenes or big hardcore sex scenes.  But that's what I like about it, it presents you something.  Don't get me wrong though, some of the things that are said in the movie might shock some people, so it might end up being hard to watch, but in the end, that's not the point of it.

 It's short, it's well-made, it makes you think.  I loved it.
